Design and Development of custom furniture for a new Eightysix restaurant.

SKEEHAN Studio had the pleasure of collaborating with Swell Design Group and the visionary Eightysix team, including founder Gus Armstrong, to create a unique furniture piece for Canberra’s iconic dining destination. Eightysix is renowned for its bold, modern Australian dining experience, and our team was tasked with designing a custom barstool that would complement the restaurant’s open kitchen layout and modern aesthetic.

Drawing inspiration from contemporary Australian residential architecture, we developed the Eightysix Stool to align with the material palette and audience needs of the space. This carefully considered design bridges the gap between the furniture and the architectural details, creating a cohesive and immersive dining environment.

The restaurant’s bustling, open kitchen, pared-back furniture, and long banquette seating establish a dynamic yet casual atmosphere. The Eightysix Stool enhances this by supporting the flow of the space while adding a unique design element.

At SKEEHAN Studio, we are proud to have contributed to the evolution of Eightysix, where attention to detail and bold design come together to create a truly unforgettable dining experience.
